Optoacoustic imaging is a very complex field, both from a technology and applications perspective. Components to master include lasers, optics, ultrasound detectors, electronics, and, equally important, a breadth of algorithms for quantitative image reconstruction and spectral analysis. In order to successfully translate the technology from its experimental state in a research lab to a robust product used by scientists and medical doctors, iThera Medical has assembled an international and interdisciplinary team of scientists and developers, ranging from engineers to physicists and biologists.
