No more doubts about plaques.

MSOT is not only capable of high-resolution visualization of cardiovascular anatomy, but it can also identify specific biomarkers of atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability and other CVD-related processes, e.g. upregulation of MMPs, proteases and other molecules involved in plaque formation, as well as quantifying tissue perfusion and oxygenation.

MSOT further possesses other performance characteristics particularly important in cardiovascular imaging applications, such as real-time operation. This allows obtaining high-resolution images, free of motion artifacts due to heart beat or breathing.
